Publications

Dr. Caulley has published articles in Restoration Quarterly, Stone-Campbell Journal, Encounter, Studia Biblica et Theologica, and Society of Biblical Literature Seminar Papers Series, as well as Christian Standard magazine. He also contributed articles to The Anchor Bible Dictionary, Evangelical Dictionary of Theology , 2nd ed. (1991), Eerdmans Dictionary of the Bible , Evangelical Dictionary of Theology (1984).

Dr. Caulley has also published several book reviews for Christian Scholars Review and in the Stone-Campbell Journal.

Professional Activities

•  Dr. Caulley is a member of the Society of Biblical Literature and a Fellow of the Institute of Biblical Research

•  Dr. Caulley has presented papers at national and regional AAR/SBL meetings, at the “Fellowship of Professors” meeting at St. Louis Christian College , and at the Kolloquium für Graduierte , Universität Tübingen. In the Fall, 1994, he participated in the "Visiting Scholar Sabbatical Program for Professors in the Stone-Campbell Movement at the Institute for the Study of Christian Origins , Tübingen , Germany

•  He is listed in Who's Who in Biblical Studies and Archaeology , (1st and 2nd editions); and listed in Who's Who in Religion; Who's Who in the Midwest; Who's Who Among Young American Professionals; Who's Who among Emerging Leaders in America

 

Church Activities

Scott Caulley preaches on most Sundays. He has held several professional ministry positions concurrent with teaching or studying, including associate minister, music minister, youth minister, and campus minister. He has had a couple interim ministries in the past few years, as well as traveling on behalf of Manhattan Christian College . For four years he was minister of Vermillion Christian Church, Vermillion, KS, and for four years was minister of the Congregational Church in Seneca , KS .

 

Personal

Scott and Cherie Caulley were married on June 23, 1972. Prior to coming to Tübingen, Cherie Caulley was choir director at a couple different churches in Manhattan , KS , and was active at the local, state, and national levels of the National Federation of Music Clubs. She is a Past President of the Kansas Federation of Music Clubs.

 

The Caulleys have a daughter, Alisha, a 2002 graduate of Manhattan Christian College, and a student at Emmanuel School of Religion (Johnson City, TN); and a son, Justin (born in Stuttgart while the Caulleys first lived in Tübingen), a 2003 viola performance graduate of Eastman School of Music (University of Rochester), Rochester, NY, and student at Universität Mozarteum, Salzburg, Austria. Alisha is married to J. W. Martin Paddock, son of Dr. and Mrs. Wesley Paddock, Manhattan , KS . Caulleys have one grandchild, Pyper Lili Paddock, b. April 27, 2005.

 

The family is very musical, and for several years when the children were younger, formed an ensemble and carried on a family “music minstry,” playing for church groups, retirement homes, weddings, clubs, etc. Alisha (clarinet) continued her music, playing for six years in the Kansas State University music program, including with the KSU Marching Band at the Cotton Bowl, with the Concert Band, and with the Clarinet Choir. Her career goal is to teach at the college level, specifically "...to be a better Greek instructor than my father." Justin (viola), plans to be a professional musician.
